I directed 4 teams at En Masse Entertainment during our launch of the PC Game TERA. I was responsible for 16 engineers in the 24/7 NOC, engineering, dev ops, and IT teams. At En Masse, we built a largely automated deployment framework using Ruby and Chef. Our infrastructure from SAN to application was automated, making it possible for us to nuke and replace our applications and infrastructure at any given time.

At Univita, I managed the company's core underwriting and claims processing platform, LINK. LINK handled 15M in yearly outsourced transactions for the nation's top 30 long term care insurance providers. LINK is a 3-tiered application consisting of an extensive Windows app, a Biztalk middle-tier and message bus, and SQL server db's. The team I managed consisted of 16 professional developers and analysts. My team followed an Agile development methodology delivering monthly releases of enhancements, new features, and bug fixes.
  • Developed 6 month software roadmap and team supply plan, effectively doubling our production and increasing our planning phase from 1 month out to 6 months out.
  • Led the migration of our datacenter to two co-located and redundant facilities.
  • Redeveloped intake to be compliant with HIPAA hi-tech policies.

At the University of St. Thomas, I managed 4 full-time developers in the Web and Media Services division of IRT. My duties included designing systems, determining technical direction, project management, and Java/J2EE application development.   • Converted development group from web scripting methodology to object oriented development using Java, Eclipse, Oracle DB, Javascript/AJAX, Sun Solaris, and Oracle application server OC4J.
  • Led development of online admissions module for graduate programs
  • Developed campus wide portal for students, faculty, and staff which integrated Banner ERP, Blackboard CMS, and Exchange. Developed campus wide IM strategy using Jabber.

At Target Corp., I developed and led a host of key .NET projects while working as a senior developer for Target Technology Services. My job was to lead development teams, using SEI process, from the rapid prototype phase, to development, and finally, through support turn-over. Prior to leaving Target, I was in the process of being promoted to the technical architect role. I was the recipient of TTS's quarterly bonus for exceptional work on a project.
  • Developed cash analysis and trending system which detected statistical anomalies in cash register activity at all 1800 Target Stores. System was developed in .NET using ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server, Javascript/AJAX, and DB2.
  • Developed inventory analysis and reporting system which compared inventory counts and trends at all Target stores and distribution centers. System was developed in .NET using C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server, Analysis Server, Javascript/AJAX, and DB2.

Founded, designed, architected, and developed what was once the web's largest and most active online travel community, At its peak in 2003, Trekshare served millions of page views per day, as members planned trips with an interactive map, wrote travelogues, uploaded images and video, and interacted through various networking functions.

At Cerner Corp, I was responsible for the management of 3-7 employee implementation projects and technical staff. I was responsible for project management, implementation, and the deployment of Cerner's three-tiered clinical architecture, HNAM. I was promoted to a technical project lead after one year, and was promoted to technical project manager after 1 year and 6 months.
  • Designed and implemented Cerner's first 3-node HACMP cluster at Loma Linda Medical University using Oracle Parallel Server, AIX Unix, shell scripts, and HACMP.
  • Deployed Cerner HNAM at St. Francis Medical Center, Loma Linda Medical University, Methodist Medical Center, SPARCS, and LA County Hospital.
